Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
Celebrate the Bride ("we," "us," or "our") provides a bridal-shower party game platform through our iOS app, Apple TV app, and web guest experience (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
Host Account Information
When you create a host account via Sign in with Apple, we receive and store your name and email address as provided by Apple. We also store a Firebase authentication identifier (UID) to associate your account with the events you create.
Event Content
Hosts and guests contribute content during events, including:
- Photos and videos uploaded to the event gallery
- Guestbook messages and guest display names
- Game answers and scores (Bride Trivia, She Said / He Said, Would She Rather)
- Optional guest email addresses (for session recovery in pass-the-phone mode)
- Guest-selected emoji avatars
Automatically Collected Information
We use Firebase infrastructure, which may log basic operational data such as crash reports and request metadata (IP address, device type) for service reliability. We do not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or any third-party analytics SDK.
Website Visit Analytics
When you visit our marketing website at celebratethebride.com, we record basic visit information — the page viewed, a timestamp, the referring page, your browser type (user agent), screen size, language, and IP address — and store a randomly generated visitor identifier in your browser's local storage to distinguish new visits from return visits across our own websites. This information is kept in our own Firebase project and is used solely to understand traffic to our sites. We do not use cookies for this, we do not use Google Analytics or any advertising tracker, and we do not sell or share this data.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect precise location or GPS data.
- We do not collect health, financial, or biometric data.
- We do not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or any advertising framework.
- We do not serve ads or use any advertising SDK.
- We do not use advertising networks or third-party cross-site trackers, and we do not track your activity on websites or apps operated by others. (For the first-party visit statistics we keep on our own sites, see "Website Visit Analytics" above.)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information solely to:
- Authenticate hosts and associate them with their events
- Run the party games, guestbook, and photo gallery during events
- Generate scrapbook videos from event photos
- Display event content on paired Apple TV or projector screens
- Allow guests to recover their session via email (pass-the-phone flow)
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. Data Storage and Security
Event data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) in the United States. Data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Access to event data is restricted by Firebase Security Rules: only the event host and authenticated guests with the event's join code can access event content.
5. Data Retention
Event content (photos, messages, game data) is retained for as long as the host account exists. We do not automatically delete event data after a fixed period. Hosts may delete individual events from within the app at any time.
6. Account Deletion
Hosts can delete their account and all associated data directly from the iOS app by navigating to Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion permanently removes:
- Your Firebase authentication record (email and UID)
- All events you created
- All photos, videos, and media within those events
- All guest data (names, messages, scores, avatars) within those events
- All game questions and answers within those events
This action is irreversible. Guest data contributed to other hosts' events (via anonymous join) is not linked to your host account and is not affected by host account deletion.
7. Guest Data
Guests join events anonymously using a printed join code. Guest data (display name, avatar, messages, game answers, photos) is stored under the event and is controlled by the event host. Guests do not create accounts. If a guest provides an email address for session recovery, that email is stored only on their player record within the event and is not used for any other purpose.
8. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Hosting
- Apple — Sign in with Apple for host authentication
These services process data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not integrate any additional third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
